About this plant
Vinca minor f. alba 'Gertrude Jekyll' is a beautiful white-flowered form of the Lesser Periwinkle, named after the influential garden designer. It retains the same ground-hugging, evergreen growth habit as the species, forming a dense mat of trailing stems and dark green, ovate leaves. In spring, it produces pure white, star-like flowers that brighten even the shadiest corners of the garden. This variety is especially useful in formal or monochrome planting schemes and blends beautifully with ferns, hostas, and other shade-loving companions.

Planting guide
Plant in partial to full shade in moist but well-drained soil. Space 30–45cm apart to allow for spread. Avoid planting near delicate or slow-growing plants, as it can be vigorous.
Care tips
Trim back in early spring to control spread and encourage fresh, bushy growth. Clip back any leggy or wayward stems throughout the growing season if needed. Tolerates neglect once established.
Winter care
Fully hardy and evergreen. Minimal winter care required. Remove any winter-damaged foliage in early spring to keep the plant tidy and vigorous.
