Planting guide

Plant in spring or early summer in full sun, spacing plants ~30–40 cm apart for airflow. Choose well-drained, sandy or loamy soil. Water regularly until established, then ease off — this cultivar thrives with minimal moisture once settled.

Care tips

Keep soil moist during the first season and water sparingly thereafter. Trim back flowering stems by about two-thirds after the first flush to encourage ongoing blooms. In autumn, cut the plant back to ground level and mulch to protect the roots over winter.

Winter care

Cut back to ~10 cm in late autumn and apply a mulch of leaves or brushwood. In areas prone to wet winters or severe frost, it's best grown in a container and moved under cover.
