Planting guide
Choose a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil enriched with compost or rose feed. Soak the root ball before planting and water regularly during dry spells. Apply a rose fertiliser in spring and again in mid-summer after the first flush.
Care tips
Feed in early spring and again in midsummer, deadhead regularly to encourage fresh blooms, and keep an eye out for aphids or black spot. Water at the base to avoid wetting the foliage and mulch annually to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Winter care
Prune lightly in autumn to minimise wind-rock, then mulch and protect the crown during frosts. In harsher winters, add fleece or extra mulch for insulation.
