Planting guide

Space plants 50–60cm apart in well-drained soil. Water well after planting and during dry spells until established.

Care tips

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and a sunny, sheltered spot. Deadhead regularly to extend the flowering season, and cut back faded stems in early spring to encourage fresh growth. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring and summer for best results.

Winter care

Salvia 'Amistad' is half-hardy and may require winter protection in colder regions. Apply a thick mulch over the root zone in autumn or grow in a container that can be moved to a frost-free area.
