About this plant
‘White Versailles’ is one of the oldest and most popular whitecurrant varieties, loved for its sweet, translucent berries and excellent yields. The pale, almost pearlescent fruits are less acidic than redcurrants, making them ideal for fresh eating, as well as in desserts and preserves. With its long, graceful trusses and compact, upright habit, this deciduous shrub is a beautiful and productive choice for gardens and allotments alike.

Planting guide
Plant in autumn or early spring in fertile, well-drained soil. Allow 1.2m spacing between bushes. Water thoroughly after planting and apply mulch to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Care tips
Feed in early spring with a balanced fertiliser. Prune annually to improve airflow and fruiting potential. Use netting to protect the ripening berries from birds.
Winter care
Prune during dormancy to maintain an open shape and encourage new fruiting wood. Mulch around the base with organic matter to retain moisture and feed the soil.
