Planting guide
Plant in spring or autumn in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid letting soil dry out completely. Works well in groups or as underplanting for taller shrubs.
Care tips
Deadhead to encourage a second flush of blooms. Cut back hard after flowering to tidy foliage. Mulch annually and water in dry spells.
Winter care
Cut back after flowering and mulch in late autumn. In colder areas, a winter mulch will help protect the crown. Leaves may die back in winter and regrow in spring.
