Planting guide

Plant against a support such as a wall, trellis, or arch in a sunny position. Prepare the ground with compost or well-rotted manure and space the rose at least 45cm from the wall to avoid dry conditions at the base. Tie in new shoots as they grow.

Care tips

Feed in early spring and again in midsummer with a balanced rose fertiliser. Train and tie in new shoots regularly for even coverage and better flowering. Prune in late winter to shape and remove dead or weak wood, and water well during dry spells, especially during its first growing season.

Winter care

Tie in any long shoots before winter winds cause damage. In late winter, prune side shoots to two or three buds and remove any dead or crossing stems to shape and encourage fresh growth in spring
