Planting guide
Plant in autumn or early spring. Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot with fertile, well-drained soil. Space bushes at least 1.2m apart or grow as a cordon. Mulch yearly and keep watered during fruiting.
Care tips
Feed in early spring with a balanced fertiliser. Prune annually to keep plants open and fruiting well. Protect crops from birds as fruit ripens by netting.
Winter care
Prune during the dormant season to remove old wood and encourage new fruiting stems. Mulch around the base with compost or manure to improve soil health and retain moisture.
