About this plant
'Gloire de Sablon' is a heritage pinkcurrant variety prized for its delicate, translucent blush-pink berries and sweet, mild flavour. Less tart than redcurrants, these fruits are perfect for fresh eating, baking, and garnishing summer dishes. This productive, self-fertile shrub is easy to grow and ideal for gardeners who want something a little different from standard currants. Its ornamental clusters of berries and lobed foliage make it an attractive as well as edible addition to the garden.

Planting guide
Plant in autumn or early spring in fertile, well-drained soil. Space around 1.2m apart. Water well after planting and apply a generous mulch. Keep free of weeds to allow strong, healthy growth.
Care tips
Feed in spring with a balanced fertiliser. Prune annually to maintain shape and maximise fruit production. Protect ripening berries from birds with netting if needed.
Winter care
Prune in winter when dormant, removing old and congested wood to encourage new growth. Mulch with organic compost to nourish the plant and protect the roots.
