Planting guide

Plant in spring or early autumn in well-drained soil in a sunny position. Avoid heavy, waterlogged ground, especially in winter. Space plants to allow good air circulation and water well during establishment.

Care tips

Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. Divide clumps every few years in spring to maintain vigour. Avoid overly rich soils, as this can lead to floppy growth.

Winter care

Cut back spent stems to near ground level in late autumn or leave seed heads for winter interest and trim in early spring. Apply a light mulch in colder areas, ensuring the crown does not sit in wet soil over winter.
