Planting guide

Plant in spring or autumn in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Choose a sunny spot for the best flowering. Water well during dry spells, especially in its first year, and space plants to allow good air circulation.

Care tips

Keep soil consistently moist during dry periods. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. Divide every two to three years in spring to keep plants strong and free-flowering.

Winter care

Cut stems down to ground level in late autumn or early winter once flowering has finished. Apply a light mulch around the base to protect the roots in colder areas. Divide clumps every few years in spring to maintain vigour.
