Planting guide

Plant in spring or early autumn in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Incorporate plenty of organic matter before planting and position the crown at soil level. Water well after planting and keep the soil evenly moist, especially during dry spells.

Care tips

Protect emerging shoots from slugs and snails in spring. Water regularly during dry weather to prevent leaf scorch. Divide mature clumps every few years in early spring to maintain healthy growth.

Winter care

Allow foliage to die back naturally in autumn before cutting down. Apply a mulch of compost or well-rotted manure around the crown to protect roots and improve soil structure. Ensure good drainage to prevent winter rot.
