Why we like this plant
Tulip 'Pays Bas' is loved for its crisp clarity and effortless grace. The snowy white petals have a satin finish that catches the light beautifully, making this tulip a natural choice for creating contrast or calm within the garden. It pairs well with virtually any colour, especially soft pinks, lilacs, and blues, and lends itself beautifully to both modern and traditional designs. In floral arrangements, its poise and purity offer a classic touch, whether used alone or as a cooling companion to brighter tones.
Planting guide
Plant in autumn, 15 cm deep and 10 to 12 cm apart, in well-drained, fertile soil with full sun or very light shade.
Care tips
Remove faded flowers promptly and allow the foliage to die back undisturbed. 'Pays Bas' performs well in free-draining soil and may return for several seasons. Lift bulbs in early summer if needed, particularly in heavy soils.
