Why we like this plant
Tulip 'Red Madonna' brings a sense of clarity and strength to any planting scheme. Its vivid red petals catch the spring light with a gentle lustre, and the flower’s classic silhouette makes it especially versatile. Whether planted in broad swathes for impact or nestled among softer hues for contrast, this tulip commands attention without overpowering. It is equally well suited to traditional borders, formal parterres, or smart container arrangements, and its flowers last well both in the garden and the vase.
Planting guide
Plant in autumn, 15 cm deep and 10 to 12 cm apart, in well-drained, fertile soil with full sun.
Care tips
Remove faded flowers and allow the leaves to die back completely before clearing. In good conditions, 'Red Madonna' may return year after year. Lift and store bulbs in early summer if your soil is heavy or prone to waterlogging.
