Planting guide

Plant in spring or autumn in acidic to neutral soil. Choose a sheltered position away from direct midday sun. Use ericaceous compost for container planting and water well during establishment.

Care tips

Keep soil consistently moist but well-drained. Feed annually with an ericaceous fertiliser and mulch to conserve moisture and protect roots.

Winter care

Requires little winter attention. Protect container-grown plants from severe frost and cold winds, and ensure soil remains free-draining during prolonged wet weather.
