Planting guide

Plant in autumn or spring in moisture-retentive soil. Water well during establishment and mulch annually to conserve moisture and support strong growth.

Care tips

Water during dry spells, especially in summer. Prune hard every year or every other year to ground level to maintain vibrant stem colour. Mulch in spring.

Winter care

Very hardy and requires little winter protection. Cut back hard in late winter or early spring to encourage strong new stems with the best colour.
