Why we like this plant
Crocus 'Blue Ocean' is a quietly elegant crocus that offers one of the earliest signs of spring. Its dusky blue tones have a silken quality that pairs beautifully with snowdrops, hellebores, or low tufts of evergreen ground cover. Planted en masse, these blooms create a gentle, undulating sea of colour that feels both restful and hopeful at winter’s end.
Planting guide
Plant corms in autumn, 7 to 10 cm deep and 5 to 7 cm apart, in free-draining soil with full sun or light shade.
Care tips
Allow the leaves to die back naturally after flowering to nourish the corm. In lawns or borders, avoid mowing or cutting back until the foliage has fully faded.
