About this plant
Drosera capensis, known as the Cape Sundew, is a compact carnivorous plant native to South Africa. It features slender, strap-shaped leaves covered in glandular hairs that exude a sparkling, sticky substance. These glistening tentacles lure and ensnare small insects, which the plant then digests for nutrients. It's an excellent starter species for those new to carnivorous plants, being both beautiful and surprisingly easy to grow. Small pink or purple flowers often appear on tall, wiry stems in summer.
