Planting guide

Space plants 40–50cm apart in well-drained soil. Water well after planting and during dry spells until established.

Care tips

Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny position. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and cut back spent stems in early spring to encourage fresh growth. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser in spring.

Winter care

In mild regions, 'Amethyst Lips' remains semi-evergreen. In colder areas, apply mulch to protect the roots from frost, or grow in a container that can be moved to a sheltered spot.
