Planting guide
Plant in moist but well-drained soil in sun or part shade. It prefers shelter from strong winds and benefits from being interplanted with supportive neighbouring plants.
Care tips
Provide support in exposed or windy sites, as the tall stems may flop. Cut back to the base in late autumn after flowering or leave the seedheads for winter interest. Feed in spring with a balanced fertiliser and mulch to conserve moisture.
Winter care
Very hardy in UK conditions, requiring minimal winter care. Mulch around the crown in autumn for added root protection in colder areas.
