Why we like this plant
Tulip 'Apricona' is a beautifully toned variety that seems to carry the first blush of spring in its petals. The colour varies gently from flower to flower, with each bloom displaying a soft watercolour wash of apricot-pink and warm cream. Compact yet full of presence, it sits comfortably at the front of borders or grouped in pots, where its warm hues shine against spring greens. It also makes a lovely cut flower, adding a gentle warmth to indoor arrangements.
Planting guide
Plant in autumn, 12 to 15 cm deep and 8 to 10 cm apart, in well-drained soil and full sun.
Care tips
Deadhead after flowering and allow the leaves to die back naturally. In well-drained conditions, 'Apricona' may return for several years with minimal care. Lift and store bulbs in early summer if necessary.
