Why we like this plant
Tulip 'Black Parrot' is a true collector's variety, much admired for its curious form and sultry colouring. The petals twist and curl like fine silk, each one fringed and flared, giving the flower a sense of animated beauty even on still days. Its moody tones pair exquisitely with soft pinks, acid greens, or silvery foliage, offering contrast and sophistication. Whether grown in a formal display or a looser, more naturalistic setting, it never fails to draw admiration.
Planting guide
Plant bulbs in autumn, 15 cm deep and 12 cm apart, in fertile, well-drained soil with full sun.
Care tips
Deadhead promptly after flowering, but allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. In gardens with poor drainage, lift and store bulbs once the foliage has fully withered.
