Why we like this plant
Tulip 'Bleu Aimable' has long been favoured by gardeners with a taste for the rare and refined. Its colour is subtly complex—beginning in soft lavender tones and ageing to a smoky blue-lilac that lends an air of quiet sophistication. The blooms are generous in size, perched on sturdy stems that rise gracefully through surrounding foliage. Pair it with silvery-leaved plants, late-flowering alliums, or white narcissus for a scheme of gentle elegance. In the vase, it continues to impress, especially when allowed to mature fully.
Planting guide
Plant in autumn, 15 cm deep and 10 to 12 cm apart, in rich, well-drained soil with full sun or very light shade.
Care tips
Deadhead once flowers fade, and allow the foliage to yellow before removing. In good conditions, 'Bleu Aimable' may return for several seasons. Lift bulbs in early summer if soil is heavy or wet.
