Planting guide

Plant in spring or early autumn in well-drained soil, ideally in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Avoid heavy, wet soils. Mix in grit if needed to improve drainage, and water in well until established.

Care tips

Cut back flowered stems to the base after blooming to maintain a neat shape and encourage fresh growth. Wear gloves when handling, as the sap can irritate skin. Avoid overwatering and ensure good drainage at all times.

Winter care

Generally hardy in milder parts of the UK, but benefits from a sheltered position and well-drained soil in colder areas. Avoid waterlogged conditions in winter, and protect from severe frost where necessary.
