Planting guide

Plant in spring or autumn in acidic, well-drained soil. Use ericaceous compost when planting in containers or alkaline soils. Choose a sheltered spot with partial shade.

Care tips

Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Feed with an ericaceous fertiliser in spring and remove faded flowers if desired.

Winter care

Protect from cold, drying winds and harsh frost. Mulch with ericaceous compost or leaf mould to insulate roots and maintain soil acidity.
