Planting guide

Plant in moist but well-drained acidic to neutral soil in partial shade or shade. Avoid exposed windy sites and improve heavy soils with organic matter before planting.

Care tips

Water during dry spells, especially for container plants. Feed with an ericaceous fertiliser in spring and remove damaged foliage as needed to keep plants tidy.

Winter care

Protect container-grown plants from prolonged freezing conditions and cold drying winds. Mulch around the base in autumn to help insulate roots and maintain soil moisture.
