  • Why we like this plant

Crocus 'Golden Yellow' is a delightful harbinger of spring, its bright flowers lighting up even the dullest patches of garden soil. Its cheerful colour lifts the spirit after winter’s gloom, and it pairs beautifully with early flowering snowdrops and crocuses of paler hues. Ideal for planting en masse, it creates a sunlit carpet that invites the return of bees and butterflies.

Planting guide

Plant corms in autumn, 7 to 10 cm deep and 5 to 7 cm apart, in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade.

Care tips

Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering to feed the corm for next year. Lift and divide clumps every few years to maintain vigour and prevent overcrowding.
