  • Why we like this plant

Crocus 'Prins Claus' is a delightful variety that surprises and charms with its contrasting colour pattern. The richly painted outer petals fold open to reveal a pure white centre, giving the flower a luminous quality. It is especially effective when planted in drifts, where the interplay of light and colour brings a sense of movement and freshness to awakening borders and grassy spaces.

Planting guide

Plant corms in autumn, 7 to 10 cm deep and 5 to 7 cm apart, in well-drained soil with full sun or light shade.

Care tips

Allow leaves to die back naturally after flowering so the plant can store energy for the following year. Divide and replant clumps every few years to encourage healthy growth and consistent flowering.
