Why we like this plant
Tulip 'Tinka' is a species hybrid with a look that leans towards the wild and wonderful. Each flower is like a miniature flame, with finely tapered petals in a soft primrose yellow lightly brushed and edged with scarlet. The blooms open wide on sunny days, revealing warm tones within, then close again in the evening. With its restrained size and elegant form, it is perfectly suited to rockeries, gravel gardens, or the front of borders. It also thrives in pots, where its dainty beauty can be enjoyed up close.
Planting guide
Plant in autumn, 8 to 10 cm deep and 6 to 8 cm apart, in free-draining soil with full sun exposure.
Care tips
Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering. In well-drained, sunny positions, 'Tinka' will often return reliably each year and may slowly form a charming colony over time.
