Planting guide

Plant in spring or autumn in well-drained soil. Position with roots shaded and top growth in sun or light shade. Plant slightly deeper than the nursery pot level and provide immediate support such as a trellis or obelisk. Water regularly while establishing.

Care tips

Prune hard each spring to encourage vigorous new growth and prolific flowering. Keep roots cool with mulch or low planting. Train stems as they grow to maintain an even, well-shaped display.

Winter care

Cut back hard in late winter or early spring, as this variety flowers on new season’s growth. Apply a mulch around the base to protect roots and improve soil condition. No special protection is usually needed once established.
